Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata won its second-straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game Saturday afternoon as the Mighty Macs defeated the Keystone Giants, 20-9, in women's lacrosse action.
Immaculata improves to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in league play, while Keystone falls to 1-2, 0-2 CSAC.
Hannah Verrecchia led the scoring with five goals and two assists, while
Rosemarie Reitman tallied four goals and one assist.
Nicole Dominick also recorded four goals, and
Shannon Neill scored three times.
Amanda Maher added two tallies,
Brittany Whaley had one goal to go along with two assists, and
Bailey Krewson scored once.
Following Maher scoring in the opening for the Mighty Macs, Keystone evened the game at 1-1 at the 26:04 mark. Immaculata then turned the scoring gates open as they tallied seven-consecutive goals, including two each from Reitman, Dominick and Verrecchia, to make it 8-1 with 14:16 to play in the first half.
Keystone would score four goals before the end of the first half, but it was Immaculata in control at halftime, 13-5.
After the two teams traded goals during the first 10 minutes of second-half play, Immaculata went on a five-goal run to seal up the game. The Giants added one last goal with 10:12 to play to make it the final 20-9 score.
Dominick grabbed five ground balls and three draw controls while causing three Keystone turnovers. Krewson picked up four ground balls. Neill led the team with six draw controls and four caused turnovers, and Whaley won five draw controls.
Christine McIntyre made three saves while earning the win in goal for the Mighty Macs.
Immaculata continues conference play on Wednesday, March 23, when it hosts Cabrini at 4 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
