Box Score ROSEMONT, Pa.- Immaculata's sophomore midfielder
Hannah Verrecchia tied a women's lacrosse program record with eight goals to help lead the Mighty Macs (2-3, 1-0 CSAC) to a 17-5 victory over Rosemont (1-5, 0-1 CSAC) on Tuesday night in their Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener.

Verrecchia had a huge game with eight goals to tie the team record set four previous times, most recently by
Danielle Lopez on April 25
th, 2015 against Notre Dame. She would record a total of nine points as she added an assist. Fellow sophomore
Brittany Whaley had three goals, and sophomore
Nicole Dominick had four points on two goals and two assists. Senior
Shannon Neill (three assists), senior
Meredith Katona (one assist), sophomore
Rosemarie Reitman, and freshman
Amanda Maher all had one goal apiece as well.

Christine McIntyre needed to make just two saves for the Mighty Macs who outshot the Ravens, 36-10, in the win.

The Mighty Macs wasted no time taking control of the game as they scored the first five goals of the game to go up 5-0 in the first 10 minutes. Dominick, Neill, Reitman, Verrecchia, and Whaley all scored in the opening minutes of the game as IU had a balanced attack early on.

Rosemont would halt the run with a goal at the 19:48 mark, but Maher and Whaley scored to extend the lead to 7-1 with 14 minutes remaining in the half. Rosemont would score two of the next three goals to trim the IU advantage to 8-3, but the Macs would close with a flourish to take control heading to the locker room, led by Verrecchia.

She scored four of the five goals heading to the locker room with Katona scoring the other to put IU up 13-3 heading to halftime.

The Macs polished off the win in the second half as Rosemont never got closer than 10 goals. Verrecchia scored three more to tie the team record and Whaley scored the final goal of the night with 3:18 to go to give the Mighty Macs a season-high 17 goals in the win.

The Mighty Macs will look to make it two straight CSAC victories when they host Keystone on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.Â
