IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's basketball came out on the wrong side of a 75-56 decision as it hosted Moravian College on Wednesday night inside Alumnae Hall in non-conference action.

Tamyra Laws led the way for the Mighty Macs with 18 points and six rebounds.
Theresa Walsh posted seven points and five rebounds, while leading the team in assists (3), blocks (3) and steals (3).
Gina Cocci also had seven points and three assists.
Amber Ballinger chipped in six points and five boards.

Bailey Krewson,
Annie Kohutka and
Mamako Johnson also helped Immaculata on the glass. Krewson grabbed five rebounds, and Kohutka and Johnson each had four.

Immaculata (0-7) played right with Moravian during the first seven minutes of the game, as the Mighty Macs had an answer for Greyhounds to keep within four points. Laws made a layup with 3:29 to play that brought Immaculata back to within four (15-11), when Moravian went on a run. The Greyhounds scored nine-straight points pushing their lead to 24-11 with 1:43 to play in the quarter. Immaculata got two free throws from Kohutka and a late jumper from Krewson to trail by nine (24-15) at the end of the first quarter.

The Mighty Macs had a slow start to the second quarter as their first points of the period didn't come until the 6:42 mark when Walsh sunk a three-pointer cutting their deficit to 31-18. Moravian took a 20-point edge (40-20) with 4:38 to play when Ballinger connected on a three with 3:31 remaining. Immaculata would eventually get the deficit to 15 (43-28) at halftime as the Mighty Macs scored the final five points all at the line.

Moravian (7-2) pushed its lead to 23 (51-28) just two minutes into the third quarter, but Immaculata responded with a layup by Cocci and two buckets from Laws which made it 51-34 with just under five minutes to go in the quarter. However, the Greyhounds continued to push their lead and put the game out of reach for the Mighty Macs.

Immaculata had a strong performance at the line as the Mighty Macs went 14-for-17 (.824). Immaculata was 32.2 percent (19-59) from the field. Moravian went 29-for-67 (.433) from the field and was only 60.9 percent (14-23) at the line.
