IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata women's basketball played its final contest before beginning fall semesters finals on Saturday afternoon falling at home to Goucher, 62-48, in non-conference action.

Senior
Tamyra Laws recorded a double-double as she paced the Mighty Macs in both scoring and rebounding. Laws had 16 points and 18 rebounds to go along with three blocks, one steal and one assist. Junior
Theresa Walsh had eight points and seven rebounds while making a team-best four blocks. Sophomore
Amber Ballinger chipped in seven points and eight rebounds. Freshman
Annie Kohutka added six points, two blocks and three steals.

After a slow start for both teams, Laws got the Mighty Macs on the scoreboard at the 7:53 mark. Immaculata next got a pair of free throws from Walsh and one free throw from
Gina Cocci to lead 5-2 with 5:51 to play. Goucher responded with three layups while Immaculata added just one more free throw as the Gophers took an 8-6 lead with 4:36 to play in the quarter. Goucher would continue to hold the lead, and led by six (14-8) at the end of the first quarter.

Goucher (2-6)extended its lead to eight (18-10) at the 8:41 mark when Immaculata scored the next five points trimming the Gophers lead to three (18-15) at the midway point in the quarter. Immaculata later trimmed it to just a two-point deficit (22-20) as Kohutka hit a 3-pointer to cap a 10-4 run for the Macs. However, the Gophers ended the quarter on an 8-0 run that gave them a 30-20 lead at halftime.

The Gophers took their largest advantage of the third quarter with 3:18 to play as Briana Bull's layup put Goucher in front 40-26. The Mighty Macs came back with seven points to cut their deficit in half (40-33) with 45 second remaining in the third quarter.

Immaculata (0-8) was still within seven points (46-39) of Goucher with 7:26 to play in the fourth quarter, when the Gophers went on a 16-3 spurt, led by 10 points from Bull, that gave them their largest lead of the contest, 62-42. Immaculata closed the game scoring the last six points.

Goucher's Briana Bull had a game-high 30 points and 20 rebounds while making nine steals.

Immaculata finished the game 17-for-63 (.270) from the field and 11 of 19 (.579) at the free throw line.

Immaculata is back in action for the final time during the 2016 calendar year when it hosts Washington College on Monday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m.
