Box Score TOWSON, Md. – Immaculata women's basketball returned from the holiday break Saturday afternoon traveling to Goucher where the visiting Mighty Macs fell in non-conference action to the host Gophers, 71-46, at Decker Sports & Rec Center.
Reilly Larkin led Immaculata with 27 points, nine rebounds and five steals.
Dia Veneziano added eight points and four rebounds, and
Gina Cocci had six points, four assists and three rebounds.
Theresa Walsh came down with six rebounds and two assists, while
Bailey Krewson finished with five rebounds and two assists.
The Mighty Macs (2-8) scored the game's opening basket, but it would prove their only lead of the contest. The Gophers answered with six points to grab the lead, and later Goucher pushed that advantage to 19-7 with 3:26 remaining in the first period. Immaculata ended the first period holding Goucher to just two free throws as the visitors sunk three 3-pointers, including two by Larkin, to trail just 21-16 at the end of the first period.
Immaculata got as close at four (25-21) at the 7:02 mark of the second period before Goucher pushed its lead back to double digits at the midway point. The Mighty Macs again used a pair of three's from Larkin to come with five (33-28) with just over one minute left in the half, but the Gopher would take a 38-28 lead into halftime.
Goucher used the third period to pull away as it ended the period with a 63-37 advantage, and the two teams traded baskets during the final period.
Immaculata returns to CSAC play on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Mighty Macs head to Cabrini for a 6:30 p.m. tip.
