Women's Basketball Cruises To 61-41 Win At Keystone

LA PLUME, Pa. – Immaculata women's basketball returned to the win column Wednesday evening as the Mighty Macs defeated Keystone, 61-41, in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action inside Gambal Athletic Center.
 
The Mighty Macs even their conference mark at 3-3 while improving to 3-12 overall. Keystone is now 6-9, 3-4 CSAC.
 
Reilly Larkin scored a game-high 28 points while Theresa Walsh recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Mighty Macs. Larkin added seven rebounds and two assists, and Walsh finished with three assists, two steals and one block.
 
Gina Cocci chipped in nine points, and Tamyra Laws added six points and seven rebounds in the effort. Mamako Johnson came off the bench to bring in eight rebounds.
 
Immaculata shot 40.4 percent from the field and 76.5 perfect from the free throw line for the game. It marked the best shooting percent from the field for the Mighty Macs this season.
 
The Giants scored on a 3-pointer to start the game, and it would prove Keystone's only lead of the contest. The Mighty Macs scored their first five points from Larkin, setting up a 10-point run for the visitors as they led 10-3 at the two-minute mark. Immaculata led 12-7 at the end of the first period.
 
Keystone cut Immaculata's lead to three in the early minutes of the second period, but the Mighty Macs led by as many as nine points on three different occasions. Immaculata eventually settled into a seven-point halftime lead, 30-23.
 
Immaculata really saw its advantage grow in the third period as it outscored Keystone, 16-4, during the 10-minute frame. The Giants scored 12 seconds into the period before the Mighty Macs held them scoreless until 4:03 remaining in the period. Immaculata scored eight points during the span to take its first double-digit edge of the contest, and the Mighty Macs scored eight more following the Giants bucket for a 46-27 lead heading into the final period.
 
The closest Keystone would come the rest of the way was 15 points (48-33), while Immaculata grew its lead to as many as 24 (59-35).
 
The Mighty Macs are off until Jan. 20 when they head to nearby Rosemont for a 6 p.m. tip.
