Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team (0-7) put forth a great effort on Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium, scoring the first goal and coming back from a 3-1 deficit late in the second half, but their attempt came up a little short against King's College (5-3) as they fell, 3-2.

Megan Donegan had a big day with the third goal of her career, and first of the season, and the first assist of her career. Senior
Patsy Murphy added a goal, and senior
Meredith Katona got the first point of her career on an assist.

In goal, junior
Sarah Pasternak (0-4) made 14 saves, several in key moments, in 49 minutes of play and junior
Christine McIntyre had four saves in 21 minutes.

Defensively, junior
Haley O'Donnell had one defensive save, and sophomore Alexiss Goeller had one as well as she stopped a trickling ball from going over the goal line.

King's controlled the pace of play early on as they developed several opportunities, but the Mighty Macs took advantage of one of their first half chances. Donegan played the ball to the top of the circle on a corner to Katona, who hit a hard shot toward the net. Donegan hustled in front of the goalie, deflected a pass to Murphy who found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead in the 23
rd minute.

The score would hold there until the 30
th minute when the Monarchs would tie the game and that's where it would stay heading into the half.

In the second half, King's added goals in the 43
rd and 50
th minutes to extend their advantage to 3-1 with 20 minutes remaining.

The Macs had one last push as they converted another corner opportunity in the 59
th minute. Donegan played it in to Katona, who fed it right back to Donegan for the goal to cut the deficit to 3-2, but the Macs were unable to get any closer in the one goal loss.

Immaculata will go back on the road to Stevenson on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. game.
