Mighty Macs Drop Game To Widener, 5-0

Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa.- On a rainy night at Draper Walsh Stadium, the Immaculata women's soccer team (0-3-1) was unable to recover from an early deficit against Widener (1-2-1), and the Pride rode the momentum to a 5-0 non-conference victory.

Widener got the scoring started early as they got goals in the 6th and 11th minutes to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

The Mighty Macs settled down and were able to generate some attacks of their own with their best early scoring opportunity coming from a corner where freshman Morgan McDonough hit a shot that sailed wide.

Unfortunately for the Macs, they were unable to break through and the Pride added another in the 41st minute on a corner of their own to take a commanding 3-0 lead to the locker room.

Widener would add goals in the 55th and 69th minutes to finish off the Mighty Macs by a score of 5-0.

Sophomore goalie Allie Tracey had a great effort in net, making a career-high 13 saves for IU.

McDonough, Carly Mirarchi, and Bridget Polansky each had a shot for the Mighty Macs.

Immaculata will have six days off before they travel to Swarthmore next Wednesday.
