Box Score 2 SCRANTON, Pa. – Immaculata baseball's run in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship came to an end on Friday as the Mighty Macs dropped a pair of games in the double-elimination tournament. Fourth-seeded Immaculata fell to second-seeded Keystone, 12-0, in the morning winner's game, and the Mighty Macs were ousted from the field with a 22-9 loss to third seed Neumann in the afternoon.

Immaculata ends the 2015 season with a final record of 18-16.

In the first game of the day, Immaculata was able to keep Keystone from a big inning through the first five innings. The Giants scored one run in each the first and third, and scored twice in the fifth for a 4-0 lead. However, the Giants put four runs on the scoreboard in the sixth and eighth innings to seal up the game.

The start of the game looked promising for the Mighty Macs as
Jason McCormick (1-3) had a lead-off triple, but he was left standing at third.

Starting pitcher
Dan Whalen was able to get out of a bases loaded jam in the second as he got Gasto Rojas to strike out for the final out to keep the score 1-0.

The Mighty Macs got two runners (
Matt Lawson and
Rick DiDomenico) on-base in the top of the fourth, Lawson on a hit-by-pitch and DiDomenico on a free pass, but were not able to get them home.

Immaculata again left runners stranded (
Coleman Richards and
Ryan Ficca) on the corners in the fifth, and left two more on the base path in the sixth. Â

Whalen went five innings in the loss allowing seven runs, three earned, on eight hits. He struck out four and walked six.
Tyler Sassaman,
Collin Stringham and
Matt Dolan each pitched one inning and all gave up one hit.
Trevor O'Brien also faced four batters.

Then in an elimination game with the Knights, Immaculata gave up 11 runs to Neumann during the first three innings to fall behind 11-5.

The Mighty Macs scored one run in the second to cut the score to 6-1 as Lawson had a RBI single into center field to score
Rob Wallace, who had led off the inning with a single to left field.

Immaculata's second run came from
Howie Kalamets' home run to start the third inning, and the Mighty Macs didn't stop there.
Ryan Ficca reached on an error, DiDomenico walked and Wallace then walked to load the bases.
Chuck Wyckoff then hit a two-out single into right center that scored both Ficca and DiDomenico. Wallace then scored when Wyckoff got caught in a rundown on a pick-off for the fifth run.

The Mighty Macs got one more run back in the fourth when
Mike Lascomb was hit by a pitch, advanced on
Ryan Tecco's single, and then scored on McCormick's sacrifice fly to make it 11-6.

Immaculata inched closer with two more runs in the fifth to make it 11-8. DiDomenico and Wallace each singled, and the duo completed a double steal but an error by Neumann's catcher allowed DiDomenico to score. Wallace then score on Wyckoff's RBI single to right.

Neumann responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and six in sixth to extend its lead to 20-8.

Immaculata's final run of the game came in the seventh as Wallace singled and later scored on Lascomb's fielder's choice.

Wyckoff went 4-for-5 with three RBIs, and Wallace finished the game 3-for-4 with four runs scored. McCormick, Lawson and Tecco each had two hits.

Immaculata used eight pitchers in the game.
Adam Wheatley started but only lasted 0.1 innings as he faced seven hitters.

Keystone and Neumann both advance to Saturday's championship game and will face off at noon with the conference title on the line.
