Softball's Run In The CSAC Championship Ends With Loss To Cabrini

ASTON, Pa. – Immaculata's softball team was eliminated from the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship Saturday morning following an 8-0 loss in five innings to second-seed Cabrini.
 
The Cavaliers advance to take on top-seed Neumann in the CSAC title game.
 
Cabrini (27-10) scored in the bottom of all four innings, starting with one run in the first. The Cavaliers had a four-run inning in the second, and added one more run in the third. Cabrini finished its scoring with two runs in the fourth.
 
Brittany Merkle walked in the top of the first, but was out on Melissa Ejk's fielder's choice. Inmaculata did not have another baserunner until Ejk doubled into left center in the fourth, and she was stranded at second.  
 
Caitlin Brasier started in the circle going 1.1 innings. Brasier gave up five hits and five runs. Meghan Kugler came on in the second and pitched the final 2.2 innings. She allowed eight hits and gave up the final three runs.
 
Immaculata finished the 2015 season with an 18-20 overall record.
