Box Score 2 ASTON, Pa. – Fourth-seeded Immaculata won its elimination game against sixth seed Gwynedd Mercy, 8-0, in five innings to advance to Saturday in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship. The Mighty Macs lost their opening game of the CSAC Championship Round Friday to top-seeded Neumann, 3-2.

The Mighty Macs will now face the loser of the No. 1 Neumann vs. No. 2 Cabrini game at 10 a.m. at Neumann University's Bruder Field.

The Knights had a walk-off two-RBI single to push across the tying and winning run in the bottom of the seventh for the win in the opener.

Immaculata had trailed Neumann, 1-0, up until the sixth inning when Brittney Merkle singled and
Melissa Ejk followed with a double to the left-centerfield fence to score Merkle from first.
Caitlyn Hudock then delivered a two-out single down the left field line that brought
Tabitha Mulholland, who was pinch-running for Ejk, home for the 2-1 Immaculata lead.

Neumann scored its first run in the bottom of the third inning to break the scoreless game.

Immaculata had six hits off of Neumann with Hudock leading the way with two hits and one RBI. Ejk also had one hit and one RBI. Merkle,
Kelsey Collevechio and
Meghan Kugler all had one hit each.

Kugler pitched all 6.1 innings giving up nine hits, three runs, walking three and striking out one Knight.

Caitlin Brasier pitched a gem in the second game to advance the Mighty Macs. She had her third shutout of the year only giving up five hits and striking out seven.

Immaculata got the scoring started in the bottom of the first when two runs scored on an error by Gwynedd Mercy.

The Mighty Macs added two more in the second as the first three hitters for Immaculata all reached base. Kugler led off with a single up the middle, and Brasier followed with single through the center.
Paige Hughes then doubled into right field scoring Kugler. Merkle followed two batters later with a sac fly to left field that allowed Brasier to score.

Immaculata continued to put runs on the scoreboard in the third as Brasier doubled into left field scoring Kugler, who had reached on a single, for a 6-0 lead.

The Mighty Macs closed out the game in the fifth as
Lauren Penn singled to start the rally. Kugler reached on a fielder's choice, and Penn ended up scoring on the play after an error. Hughes hit a two-out single up the middle as Kugler advanced to second. Mulholland then had the walk-off single through the right side as Kugler plated the eighth run of the game for the Mighty Macs.

Kugler, Brasier and Hughes all went 2-for-3 to lead the Mighty Macs.
