Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- In their first non-conference game since their spring break trip to Florida, the Immaculata baseball team (8-8) travelled to Arcadia (12-5) on Monday afternoon looking to win their third straight, but the Knights broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning with five runs to take control and defeat the Mighty Macs, 10-5.

Immaculata didn't trail from the time they took the lead in the top of the second until the bottom of the seventh when the Knights ran away with it with their five-run frame against the IU bullpen.

Offensively, sophomore catcher
Dom Ficca (2-for-2, R, 2B) led the Macs with two of their seven hits, his second consecutive multi-hit game.

On the mound, freshman
Ryan Joyce got his second career start and threw 3 2/3 innings, scattering six hits and allowing three runs while striking out one. Freshman
Eddie Decker (2-1) took the first loss of his career by giving up six runs over 2 1/3 innings out of the bullpen, including four of the five runs in the seventh inning. Sophomore
Chris Goggin surrendered the other seventh inning run, and sophomore
Kyle Bacher pitched a scoreless eighth inning.

After neither team scored in the first, the Mighty Macs struck with one run in the top of the second. Sophomore right fielder
Howie Kalamets (1-for-3, R, 2B) doubled to lead off the inning and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by freshman designated hitter
Connor Kerns. Junior shortstop
Ryan Ficca then delivered an RBI single through the left side to give IU a 1-0 lead.

Arcadia got the run back with an unearned run in the bottom of the second, but IU had a three-run third to retake the lead.

Dom Ficca singled to left and moved to second on a wild pitch. After a walk by sophomore second baseman
Jason McCormick (1-for-1, R, RBI, 2B, 2 BB, HBP), junior centerfielder
Rick DiDomenico singled to left field to score Ficca. DiDomenico and McCormick would move up on an error by the left fielder, and a sacrifice fly by junior first baseman
Rob Wallace brought home McCormick to make it 3-1 IU while moving DiDomenico to third. He would come home to score on a wild pitch to stake the Macs to a 4-3 lead.

Arcadia would get two of them back with an RBI single and RBI double, but the Macs held a 4-3 lead through three innings.

With the score holding in the top of the fifth,
Dom Ficca led off with a double and would score to make it 5-3 on a double to right center by McCormick.

Arcadia then put the pressure on by scoring seven runs over the next three innings to take control. They scored one in the fifth and one in the sixth to tie the game, 5-5. They took the lead for good in the seventh when the first seven guys reached base with five of them scoring to take a 10-5 lead, and they would hold on for the non-conference win.

Immaculata will be back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host Gwynedd Mercy at 3 p.m. in CSAC action as the Mighty Macs seek a three-game sweep of the Griffins.
