Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team entered Friday's series-opening game against Keystone looking to win their team-record 10
th straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game, but the Giants (22-11, 8-5 CSAC) jumped out to a 9-0 lead and the Mighty Macs (16-10, 10-3 CSAC) never recovered in a 15-5 defeat.  In the loss, IU surrendered eight unearned runs and struggled to get going offensively with just eight hits. 
For the Macs, junior third baseman 
Rob Wallace (2-for-3, R, 2B, HBP) and junior first baseman 
Mike Lascomb (2-for-3, R, RBI, BB) each had two hits.  The Mighty Macs had multiple runners on in just two innings on the day as their offense was slowed down. 
Junior 
Dan Whalen (3-2) took the loss for IU, going five innings, giving up nine runs with only three of them being earned. 
He kept Keystone off the scoreboard in the first and second innings, and the IU offense had a lead-off runner on in both, but they were unable to capitalize. 
The Giants struck first in the top of the third with two runs, one coming on an RBI fielder's choice and one from a rundown to take a 2-0 lead through three innings. 
They would take a commanding 8-0 lead through four innings as they plated six unearned runs in the top of the fourth behind three hits, three Mighty Mac errors, and a hit batsman.  After scoring another in the top of the fifth, the Immaculata offense got on the board in the bottom of the fifth. 
Sophomore pinch hitter 
Dom Ficca delivered a two-run double to the left field fence to cut the deficit to 9-2, scoring sophomore right fielder 
Howie Kalamets (2 R, 2 HBP) and Lascomb for the first two IU runs of the day.  However, the Keystone offense never slowed down as they scored one run in the sixth, two in the seventh, two in the eighth, and one more in the ninth to take a 15-2 lead into the final Immaculata at bat. 
In the frame, Lascomb had an RBI walk, sophomore catcher 
Austin Stern (RBI) had an RBI fielder's choice, and Kalamets scored when Stern was caught stealing to get to the final of 15-5. 
The Mighty Macs will now look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon with a 12 p.m. doubleheader at Keystone.
