Box Score 2 IMMACULATA, Pa. - Immaculata University softball finally opened their home and Colonial States Athletic Conference campaign with a 12-3 and 12-4 sweep of Baptist Bible College on Wednesday afternoon. With the wins, the Mighty Macs improve to 2-8 overall and 2-0 in the CSAC.
In game one, Immaculata used a three-run first inning and five-run fourth to help propel them to the 12-3 win. Junior
Melissa Ejk,paced the Mighty Macs with three hits and three RBI, while freshmen
Kelsey Collevechio added three hits and three RBI. Freshman
Annemarie Bartow amassed two hits and three RBI as well for Immaculata. Collevechio recorded her first career home run in the game. Bartow added a home run as well. Collevechio belted a two-run home run in the fourth, which, coincidentally plated Bartow. Bartow added a solo shot in the sixth to complete the scoring for the Mighty Macs. Freshman
Tabitha Mulholland registered two hits, as fellow freshman
Caitlin Brasier earned her first victory on the mound. Brasier scattered three hits, allowed one earned run and struck out seven en route to the victory.
In game two, Immaculata used a nine-run third inning, punctuated with a grand slam by Ejk, to break a 2-2 tie. Bartow recorded three more hits, including another home run. She batted .714 (5-7) on the day, including two home runs, a double, a triple, and five RBI. Ejk finished the day with seven RBI, while sophomore pitcher
Meghan Kugler helped her own cause with two hits. Kulger earned her first win of the season with seven strike outs over five innings.
Jenna Bont paced the Defenders (0-8, 0-2) with two hits and two RBI in game two. Ashley Snare amassed two hits in game one for Baptist Bible.
The Mighty Macs return to action on Friday, March 27, when they travel to face Keystone College. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.,
