Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team got their 2015 season underway on Wednesday afternoon as they went on the road to take on Arcadia, and the Mighty Macs came away with a 19-4 defeat at the hands of the Knights (2-0), who made it to the NCAA tournament a season ago.

The Mighty Macs played a solid first half as they trailed just 7-4 heading into the locker room, but the Knights were relentless in the second half, outscoring IU 12-0 after the break.

For Immaculata, junior
Kelly Lapp had two points with a goal and an assist while freshman
Nicole Dominick started her career with two points on her first career goal and assist. Senior
Danielle Lopez and junior
Allison Jakavick each tallied goals for the Macs. Â Sophomore
Christine McIntyre had 13 saves in her collegiate debut in the cage for the Mighty Macs.

Freshman
Brittany Whaley also had a solid debut for IU, leading the team with five groundballs and she tied freshman
Hannah Verrecchia with two caused turnovers each. Verrecchia added three groundballs in her debut as well.

Arcadia started the game by scoring the first three goals and holding a 3-0 advantage at the 18:30 mark, when Lapp scored the first Mighty Mac goal of the season on an assist from Dominick. They cut the deficit to one goal when Lopez scored on a free position goal just 21 seconds later.

The Knights would get one back to make it 4-2, but the Mighty Macs got goals from Jakavick on an assist from Lapp, and Dominick to tie the game at 4-4 with 7:17 to go until halftime.

With the score still tied three minutes later, the Knights strung together three goals to give them momentum going into halftime with a 7-4 lead.

Arcadia did not let up as they went on to score 12 second half goals while keeping IU off the scoreboard in the 19-4 defeat.

The Mighty Macs will get right back at it on Saturday afternoon in their home opener when they host Rutgers-Camden at 12 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
