Brittany Merkle collected a double-double, her fourth of the season, with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while fellow senior
Sara Smith recorded 17 points, five rebounds and a career-high six assists. Merkle also added a season-high four blocked shots, while Sciascia tallied a season-high five steals and shot 9-of-12 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line. Senior
Lindsay Cras registered nine points off the bench for Immaculata.
The Mighty Macs scored the first nine points of the game, before Neumann scored its first basket at 17:03. Immaculata used suffocating defense and held the Knights to 25% shooting (7-of-28) in the first half. The Mighty Macs took a 41-21 advantage into intermission. Jessica Schlesman tallied a team-high nine points for the Knights (6-8, 3-2 CSAC), while JoHanna Metzger amassed eight points. Immaculata held a 47-29 advantage in rebounds and forced 23 Neumann turnovers.
The Mighty Macs return to action on Monday, January 19, when they travel to face Gwynedd Mercy University in CSAC action. Tip-off is set for 6pm.
