Box Score IMMCULATA, Pa.- The Mighty Macs looked to extend their season-best winning streak to four games this afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium, but the visiting Cabrini Cavaliers (8-2, 6-0) scored 14 unanswered goals in the middle of the game to take control as the Mighty Macs (6-7, 3-3 CSAC) fell 19-6.
Sophomore
Kelly Lapp and senior
Katie Cook had two goals apiece, while sophomore
Shannon Neill had three points total on one goal and two assists, and junior
Danielle Lopez added the final tally.
Junior Sam Bonvetti led the squad with five groundballs, while Lopez forced the most turnovers with four.
Junior
Nicole Behrndt (4-7) made 10 saves in defeat.
Immaculata played well early, despite trailing 4-1 midway through the first half. The Mighty Macs used a quick spurt of their own to make it a one-goal game in the opening half. Lopez scored her team-leading 32
nd of the year with 14:52 to play, followed by a goal from Cook to make it 4-3.
Cabrini quickly responded with four goals over a 1:06 stretch to push their lead quickly back to 8-3.
The Cavaliers would continue to apply the pressure as they would score the next 10 goals of the game to put it out of reach at 18-3 with 18 minutes remaining in the game.
Cook and Neill would score back-to-back to make it 18-5, before Lapp added the final goal of the game.
The Mighty Macs will play their final regular season home game of the season on Saturday afternoon when they host Gwynedd Mercy at 1 p.m. The team will honor seniors
