Mighty Macs Grab Third Straight Victory, 19-4

IMMACULATA, Pa.- For the third straight game, the Mighty Macs (6-6, 3-2 CSAC) raced out to a big lead and never looked back as they defeated Cedar Crest (0-8, 0-3 CSAC) by a score of 19-4 to push their winning streak to three and get above-.500 in league play.  In the victory, three Mighty Macs hit career milestones as sophomores Shannon Neill (2 G, 3 A) and Kelly Lapp (3 G, 4 A) got to 100 career points, and junior Alyssa Petito (3 A) became the school's all-time assists leader with 49.
 
Junior Danielle Lopez continued her great season with a team-high six goals and she added an assist.  Senior Katie Cook came back after being injured for the last few games to score three goals and dish out two assists.  Sophomore Allison Jakavick (2 G, A), senior Mandy Grahn (2 G), and freshman Kirsten Jensen (one goal) wrapped up the scoring for the Mighty Macs, who have outscored their opponents 55-12 in their past three games.
 
Lapp also led the team in caused turnovers with four and groundballs with six.  Sophomore Lucy Hud started her second straight game in goal and made four saves.
 
Immaculata scored the first eight goals of the game to take command much like they did in their victories earlier this week against Lancaster Bible and Rosemont. 
 
Lapp scored on an assist from Neill to get the scoring started followed by two goals from Neill, two from Cook, two from Lopez, and one from Grahn to make it 8-0 just 11 minutes into the contest. 
 
Cedar Crest would come back with three consecutive goals before Neill got her 100th career point on an assist to Cook to make it 9-3 with 12:36 remaining.  Lopez would score the next two before Jakavick, Lopez again, and Lapp closed out the first half scoring with Immaculata in command 14-3.
 
Cedar Crest scored the first goal of the second half, but that was all the scoring the Falcons would get the rest of the way.
 
All five second half goals were scored by different players as Jakavick, Lopez, Lapp, Jensen, and Grahn added tallies.  Lapp picked up the 100th point of her career on an assist to Lopez.
 
Immaculata will look to make it four in a row on Tuesday when they host Cabrini at 4 p.m.
 
NOTES: Cook moved into third place on the all-time list in goals with 109, passing Michelle Callahan (2000-02)…Lapp has now caused the 4th most turnovers in team history with 58.
