Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day at Draper Walsh Stadium on Thursday afternoon picking up a 20-4 victory against Bryn Athyn College in non-conference play.
Michael Thompson led the Mighty Macs with five goals.
Bhelly Bagbonon recorded a team-leading eight points with four goals and four assists.
Rocco Piliero netted three goals and one assist.
Ben Lerario finished with two goals while
Samuel Zingaro,
Doug Hughes,
Jonathan Kopistecki and
Jon Bernhard each had one goal and one assist.
Nick Ridolfi and
Tyler Freas tallied one goal apiece.
Immaculata (1-13) came out ready to play scoring five goals during the first five minutes of the game. Piliero had two of the Mighty Macs' goals to open the game. By the end of the first quarter, Immaculata had a 7-0 lead against Bryn Athyn.
The Mighty Macs didn't slow in the second quarter as they added five more goals. Bagbonon and Thompson each scored twice while Piliero finished off his hat trick. Immaculata held a 12-0 advantage at halftime.
It wasn't until the 11:31 mark of the third quarter that Bryn Athyn got on the scoreboard to cut Immaculata's lead to 12-1. Following the Lions' goal, the Mighty Macs scored twice more from Bagbon and Hughes to extend their advantage to 14-1.
The Lions (2-11) scored their second goal with 7:19 to play in the third quarter. However, Immaculata tacked on three more goals before the quarter was over as it led, 17-2, heading into the final stanza.
The Mighty Macs outscored the Lions, 3-2, in the fourth quarter to easily claim the 20-4 win in the season finale.
CJ Schultheis and
Mike Quinn each collected five ground balls, and
Tyler Bielecki and Lerario each scooped up four loose balls.
Dillon Richards caused a team-best four caused turnovers. Bielecki and Quinn each were 8-for-9 on face-offs.
Donald Schiffer started and played the first three quarters to get the win in goal. He allowed justtwo goals while recording 13 saves.
Christian Custodio and
Jalal Hodges split time in the fourth quarter with each making five saves and giving up one goal.
