Box Score LANGHORNE, Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team set a new team-record with 14 stolen bases and ran away with a 9-1 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) victory against Cairn (3-21, 0-11 CSAC) on Friday afternoon in the opener of a three-game weekend series. Sophomore centerfielder
Rick DiDomenico (2-for-3) tied two Immaculata (10-9, 3-4 CSAC) records by stealing four bases and scoring four runs in the game.

Joe DiGiaimo (2-for-5, R, 2 2B, 3 RBIs, SB) and sophomore first baseman
Mike Lascomb (2-for-3, R, 3B, SB) each collected multiple hits for the Mighty Macs.
Sophomore pitcher
Dan Whalen (4-0) continued his breakout campaign with seven strong innings, striking out five, scattering six hits and allowing one unearned run. Sophomore

Greg Binfield each tossed a scoreless inning of relief to close out the IU victory.
The Mighty Macs raced out to a 5-0 lead through three innings and never looked back.
In the first, DiDomenico singled to lead off the inning, advanced to second on a hit batsman, stole third, and then scored the first run of the game on a passed ball for the 1-0 IU lead.
After Whalen retired the side in order in the bottom of the first, the Mighty Macs would add another run in the second in the same manner as the first. Senior catcher
Patrick Boulware (R, SB, BB) was hit by a pitch to start the inning, stole second base and advanced to third on a ground out. He would score the second run of the game with two outs on another passed ball for a 2-0 advantage.
In the third, Immaculata finally extended their lead to a comfortable 5-0 with three in the frame. DiGiaimo collected his first two RBIs of the day with a two-run double to score Lascomb who was a hit by a pitch, and DiDomenico, who singled for the second time. Rob Wallace (2 RBIs) brought him home with a sacrifice fly to right field for the 5-0 lead.
Cairn would score their lone run of the day in the fourth with an unearned run, but Immaculata wasted no time extending their lead back out again.
DiGiaimo doubled in DiDomenico again in the fifth and Wallace would deliver his second sacrifice fly to make it 7-1.
Whalen would continue to cruise through the fifth, as he used a line drive double play to end it, and the sixth before getting through seven strong with Immaculata leading 7-1.
IU added two more runs in the ninth as sophomore designated hitter
Mike Sciasci (1-for-1, R, RBI, 3 SBs) singled in DiDomenico for his fourth run of the game, and Sciasci would steal second and third before advancing home on an error by the catcher to make it 9-1.
Binfield would shut the door for the 9-1 Immaculata victory.
The two teams will continue their weekend series on Saturday with a doubleheader at Immaculata beginning at noon.
