Women's Lacrosse Bests Lancaster Bible, 18-2

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team hosted Lancaster Bible (0-9) in their final non-conference contest of the season and the Mighty Macs (4-6) scored the first 13 goals of the game on their way to a convincing 18-2 victory.  Immaculata will now enter the final five conference games of their season seeking a postseason berth in the CSAC, where they currently reside in fifth.
 
Sophomore Kelly Lapp had a breakout game with season-high eight points on four goals and four assists, to go along with four groundballs, and a team-high three caused turnovers.  Junior Danielle Lopez also had four goals (all in the first half) and two assists, along with 11 draw controls, the second most in a single-game in Immaculata history.
 
Junior Alyssa Petito (1 G, 3 A), sophomore Shannon Neill (2 G, 1 A), freshman Kirsten Jensen (2 G), and sophomore Allison Jakavick (2 G) were all multi-point scorers during Immaculata's largest margin of victory of the season.
 
Junior Samantha Bonvetti, senior Mandy Grahn, and freshman Carleigh Dabritz all chipped in with one goal apiece as well.  Senior Aneesa Hill scooped up a team-high five groundballs.
 
The Mighty Macs wasted no time taking control of the game as they scored four goals in the first 4:10 of the game.  Lapp assisted on the first goal to Lopez before she netted back-to-back goals herself.  Neill ended the quick spurt to start the game with the Macs up 4-0.
 
Dabritz, then Neill and Lopez added their second goal each to make it 7-0 just 9:17 into the first half.
 
Lapp would then add another set of back-to-back goals before Lopez, Jensen, Petito, and Jakavick capped off the torrid start for Immaculata with them leading 13-0 with seven minutes to go in the first half.
 
The Chargers' Alyssa Werner ended the spurt, but Lopez scored her fourth goal of the half and Jensen netted her second of the game on an assist from Petito to cap a 15-1 first half.
 
In the second, Grahn, Jakavick, and Bonvetti all scored to finish off the goals for the Mighty Macs.
 
Lopez now leads the team in goals with 23, just ahead of Jakavick (21), and senior Katie Cook (19).
 
At 1-2 in league play, the Mighty Macs look to even their CSAC record on Thursday when they travel to Rosemont at 4 p.m.
 
NOTES: Lapp moved into 9th on the career goals list with 63, passing Lauren Bigos (2008-11) … Lapp moved into 8th on the career assists list with 25, passing Chelsey Murta (2009-12) … She also moved into a tie for 8th on the caused turnovers list with 47.
