Big Seventh Inning Lifts Baseball To 7-2 Victory Over Arcadia

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.-The Mighty Macs (7-7) won their second consecutive non-conference game by erasing a 2-1 deficit with a six-run seventh inning en route to a 7-2 victory over Arcadia (3-14) on Tuesday afternoon.  Senior Patrick Boulware (4-for-5, 2B, 3B, 2 R, SB) had four hits for the third time in his career to lead the Immaculata offense, which also stole nine bases.
 
Trailing by a run entering the top of the seventh, Immaculata erupted for a six-run inning that gave them the lead for good.  With one out, sophomore Mike Sciasci (2 BB, SB) and freshman Jason McCormick (R, BB, 2 SB) each walked to put two on before sophomore Rick DiDomenico (2-for-4, R, 2 SB) reached on an error by the second baseman that allowed both runners to score.  Junior Joe DiGiaimo (1-for-2, R, 2 BB, 2 SB) then lined a double to right-center field to put two runners in scoring position and sophomore Rob Wallace (1-for-4, R, 2 RBIs, BB) hit a two-run single to make it 5-2.
 
Another double by Boulware put two runners in scoring position again before an RBI groundout by senior Eli Vottero (1-for-5, RBI) and a two-out RBI single by freshman Howie Kalamets (2-for-5, 2 RBIs).
 
Sophomore Mike Campisano (1-2) got his first win as a Mighty Mac after giving up a run while pitching the sixth and seventh innings in relief.
 
Senior Greg Binfield, junior Matt Lawson, and freshman Chris Goggin each pitched a third of an inning in a scoreless eighth before sophomore Nick Campione finished off the 7-2 victory.
 
The Mighty Macs got their first run of the game after Boulware singled, stole second, and was brought around on an RBI single by Kalamets in the fourth inning.
 
Arcadia got their first run of the game against freshman Dom Cocco, who gave up one run over two innings, in the second inning.
 
Senior John Pedorenko pitched a perfect first inning, and sophomore Matt Dolan pitched two scoreless innings in the fourth and fifth.
 
Immaculata will look to make it three straight non-conference victories tomorrow afternoon when they host Eastern at 4 p.m.
