Arcadia Tops Women's Lacrosse, 18-6

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Playing through rain the entire game, Immaculata University's women's lacrosse team dropped its non-conference game against Arcadia University, 18-6, Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.
 
Danielle Lopez led the Mighty Macs' (3-6) offense with four goals, which moves her just six goals away from reaching the 100-goal mark for her career. Kelly Lapp and Allison Jakavick also scored one goal apiece, and Shannon Neill recorded one assist.
 
Lapp scored the first goal of the game for an early 1-0 Immaculata lead. Arcadia answered just 36 seconds later with a goal to tie the game at 1-all at the 27:11 mark. After the Knights went ahead with a tally at the 24:46 mark, Lopez and Jakavick scored back-to-goals less than one minute apart to put the Mighty Macs back on top, 3-2, with 22:26 to play in the first half.
 
Arcadia (9-1) used a five-goal spurt to begin to pull away from the hosts. The Knights fifth goal of the run gave them a 7-3 edge with 8:56 remaining in the first. Lopez scored her second goal of the afternoon with 5:47 left in the half to bring the Mighty Macs back to within three (7-4), but the Knights added two goals during the final two minutes to lead 9-4 at halftime.
 
Arcadia came out in the second half and scored five goals in a span of less than four minutes for the 14-4 advantage with 21:56 still to play. Lopez ended the Knights' run with a tally at the 20:53 mark. However, Arcadia scored four more goals before Lopez put in the final marker of the game with 10:41 to play.
 
Samantha Bonvetti picked up three ground balls and caused two Arcadia turnovers. Mackie Fitzgerald also created two turnovers. Lopez also led Immaculata winning six draw controls.
 
Immaculata goalkeeper Nicole Behrndt made seven saves.
 
Arcadia's Haylee Molloy scored seven goals and had one assist while Erin Misner recorded five goals.
 
Immaculata plays its final non-conference game this season on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 4 p.m. when the Mighty Macs host Lancaster Bible at Draper Walsh Stadium.
