HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team equaled a season-high in goals and earned their first CSAC victory of the season with a 19-2 triumph over Centenary (0-6, 0-2 CSAC) on Tuesday night. The Mighty Macs (3-4, 1-2 CSAC) were led by six points a piece by sophomores
Shannon Neill (2 G, 4 A) and
Allison Jakavick (4 G, 2 A).
Junior
Danielle Lopez (4 GB, 3 CT) netted four goals and sophomore
Kelly Lapp (4 GB, 3 CT) scored three goals and added an assist to help IU to their largest margin of victory of the season.
Freshman
Carleigh Dabritz scored the first two goals of her career, and junior
Samantha Bonvetti and freshman
Kirsten Jensen (one assist) scored their second career goals.
Junior
Nicole Behrndt had nine saves and allowed a season-low two goals.
The Mighty Macs controlled the game the whole way by outscoring the Cyclones 12-1 in the first half and following that up by dominating by a score of 7-1 after half.
IU jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first 18 minutes with two goals from Lopez, and single goals from senior
Katie Cook, Lapp, Jensen, and Neill.
Centenary broke the run with their first goal of the night, but Immaculata did not allow them to get back into the game.
Junior
Alyssa Petito scored on an assist by Neill less than two minutes after Centenary's goal to put Immaculata back up by six at 7-1. Petito's tally was the first of seven straight goals for the Mighty Macs that would span into the second half.
Bonvetti, Lopez (from Neill), Neill, Dabritz, and Lapp would each score in succession to close out the first half with IU leading 12-1.
Lopez scored her fourth of the game after half before Centenary scored to make it 13-2.
The Mighty Macs then held Centenary off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game and scored six more to put the game away.
Jakavick scored four of the six goals with Dabritz and Lapp scoring one each to get to the final of 19-2.
Immaculata will go back out of conference play for the rest of the weekend as they travel to Richard Stockton on Thursday at 7 p.m. before hosting Arcadia on Saturday at 1 p.m.
NOTES: Jakavick is now 7
th in school history in career goals with 66, passing Emily Hallett (2009-12).
