CHESTER, Pa. – Playing through a constant rain, Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team dropped its road contest at Widener University on Wednesday afternoon, 15-6.

Rocco Piliero and
Doug Hughes each scored two goals to lead the Mighty Macs while
Michael Thompson and
Ben Lerario added one goal apiece to account for Immaculata's scoring.

The Pride (2-3) scored four goals in a span of 2:21 to start the game with a 4-0 advantage against the Mighty Macs (0-5). Immaculata scored its first goal of the game with 8:03 left in the first quarter as Hughes scored on a feed from
Jonathan Kopistecki on a man-up opportunity.

Piliero scored his first tally of the game with 2:32 remaining in the quarter as he scored on a pass from
Samuel Zingaro to put Immaculata within three goals, 5-2. However, Widener led 7-2 at the end of the opening quarter.

The second quarter began with the Pride adding four more goals before Piliero could add another goal for the visitors. Widener went on to lead 12-3 at halftime.

The scoring slowed for the Pride in the second half as the Mighty Macs netted the first goal of the third quarter just two minutes into the stanza from Lerario with the assist by Piliero.

Immaculata also scored two quick goals to open the fourth quarter from Thompson and Hughes to make the margin 14-6 with 12:27 to play in the game.

Dillon Richards caused three Widener turnovers and
Michael Beall scooped up a team-best three ground balls.

Donald Schiffer started the game in goal for the Mighty Macs and played the first quarter making four saves.
Brien Cullen came in and played the final 45 minutes with 11 saves.

Immaculata will have its final tune-up prior to beginning CSAC play next week when it travels to Elizabethtown on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m.
