IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's basketball team celebrated Senior Night and Play 4Kay in grand fashion Monday night as the Mighty Macs clinched a home playoff game for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament with their 103-38 victory against Cairn University inside Alumnae Hall.

Immaculata improved to 17-7 overall and 12-3 in the CSAC. The Mighty Macs 17 wins are the most wins during the regular season since the 2010-11 season. Immaculata's 12 CSAC victories tie the mark for most wins in the conference in program history.

Marisa Kinsey made her final regular-season appearance in front of the home crowd scoring six points while dishing out five assists and making four steals.

Sara Smith led the Mighty Macs with 27 points, one shy of her career high, and made five steals during just 26 minutes. Smith was 11-for-13 from the field and 4 of 5 at the foul line.
Brittany Merkle poured in 12 points and had a team-best eight rebounds, while
Lindsay Cras had 10 points.

A total of 12 Immaculata players all contributed in the scoring column.
Alison Zimny,
Jacquelyn McClellan and
Meghan Gallagher finished with eight points apiece. Zimny also made four assists, and
Christie Orgera handed out five assists.
Samantha Bonvetti had five points which marked a career high, and
Tess Kieffer had career highs in both points (5) and rebounds (6).
Emily Bell, who added seven points, set a career high with five rebounds.

Immaculata had its best performance this season from the field shooting 60 percent (42-70) for the game. The Mighty Macs were 22-for-39 (.564) during the first half and then shot an impressive 64.5 percent (20-31) during the second frame.

The Mighty Macs scored the first 10 points of the game and never looked back. Immaculata had bumped its lead to 22 (25-3) by the 12:50 mark. Immaculata held a 55-29 lead at halftime. Cairn committed 22 turnovers during the opening frame which Immaculata was able to turn into 29 points.

Immaculata was able to score 26-straight points to begin the second half as the shots just wouldn't fall for Cairn.

After shooting 50 percent (11-22) during the first half, the Highlanders (1-21, 1-14 CSAC) were just 3-for-24 (.125) during the second stanza. Elizabeth Joy Hartzler scored a team-best 18 points for Cairn as all her points came from six 3-pointers.

Immaculata concluded the regular season on Wednesday at 6 p.m. with a road contest at Gwynedd Mercy. A win against the Griffins would give the Mighty Macs the No. 2-seed in the CSAC Tournament and a bye into the semifinals.
