LA PLUME, Pa. - Immaculata University's women's basketball team was unable to complete the comeback Saturday afternoon as the visiting Mighty Macs fell to the host Keystone College Giants, 75-70, inside Ace Spalding Arena in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game.

Trailing by 16 points (52-31) with 16:11 left in the second half, Immaculata (16-7, 11-3 CSAC) slowly chipped away at Keystone's lead. The Mighty Macs were able to score 10-straight points, including four free throws by
Mackie Fitzgerald, to close the gap to 11 (52-41) by the 13:36 mark.

The Giants (14-9, 8-6 CSAC) were able to build their lead back up to 17 (60-43) with 12:02 to play in the game when the Mighty Macs made another run. Immaculata's 8-3 spurt brought the Mighty Macs within 10 (61-51) with 9:03 remaining in regulation. Keystone's three points during the span all came at the foul line as the Mighty Macs were able to hold the Giants without a field goal for a span of 4:32.

By the 7:39 mark, Keystone had upped its lead to 15, 66-51, when Immaculata gave it their best attempt to finish the game strong. After trimming the Giants advantage to 70-59,
Alison Zimny nailed a 3-pointer for the Mighty Macs to put Keystone's lead into single digits (70-62) for the first time since the opening five minutes of the contest. Fitzgerald helped Immaculata trim its deficit further with two made free throws with 3:02 left as the visitors trailed just 70-64.

After Keystone made the first end of a one-and-one situation,
Brittany Merkle had a layup with 1:45 to go, and
Adriana Sciascia followed with a layup with just 55.4 seconds remaining as Immaculata trailed, 71-68. The Giants then sent
Lindsay Cras to the line for the Mighty Macs were she buried both free throws as Immaculata was down just one (71-70) with 22 seconds left.

Keystone closed out the game 4-for-4 at the foul line during the final 14.3 seconds as the Giants were able to hang on for the victory.

Zimny finished with a game-high 19 points while adding three assists and two steals. Merkle recorded a double-double for the Mighty Macs with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Sciascia, Smith and Cras all added eight points apiece. Sciascia also had three assists and two steals, while Cras brought down four boards.

Keystone had four players score in double figures led by 19 points from Chantel Blake and Jazmyn Robinson's 17.

Immaculata returns home to Alumnae Hall on Monday at 6 p.m. against Cairn as the Mighty Macs host their annual Play 4Kay game as well as celebrate Senior Night.
