Sara Smith posted her first double-double of the season with a team-high 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead Immaculata University in a non-conference loss at Richard Stockton, 67-59, Monday night.

Meghan Gallagher came off the bench to produce nine points and five rebounds.
Mackie Fitzgerald and
Brittany Merkle each chipped in eight points. However, Richard Stockton (2-2) shot 47.3 percent from the field and made 13 of 17 free throws, including the final six down the stretch, to keep the Mighty Macs (1-4) at bay.

Immaculata got within a bucket (59-57) with 1:47 left in the game. But, Richard Stockton closed out the game on an 8-2 run with the majority of those points coming at the foul line.

Richard Stockton held a 47-40 lead early in the second half when the Mighty Macs went on a 12-6 run to draw within a point at 53-52. Gallagher sparked the rally with seven of her nine points during the run.

Immaculata would get within a point on three more occasions in the final four minutes of the contest, but could never grab the lead.

The Mighty Macs open their conference slate on Wednesday with a road contest at Notre Dame. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
