BALTIMORE, Md. – Immaculata University women's basketball is off to its best start in the conference after its 84-17 victory on the road at Notre Dame of Maryland University Monday night. The Mighty Macs improved to 11-3 overall and 6-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) with the win.

Sara Smith scored a game-high 16 points, while adding four rebounds, three assists and two steals in just 17 minutes on the court.
Lindsay Cras finished with 12 points, a team-leading eight rebounds, two assists and three steals in 15 minutes of action.
Brittany Merkle finished out the trio of Mighty Macs who scored in double digits with 12 points, four rebounds and two assists.

Marisa Kinsey and
Mackie Fitzgerald each scored eight points. Fitzgerald also recorded four assists and three steals, while Kinsey grabbed a team-best eight rebounds, five assists and five steals. In all, 11 different Immaculata players scored in the contest.

Immaculata controlled the contest from the opening tip as Smith scored four points during the first minute of play. The Mighty Macs scored the first 15 points of the game by the 15:39 mark to lead 15-0. Smith had seven of those points, while
Alison Zimny totaled five points, and
Adriana Sciascia hit a three to cap the run.

Notre Dame (1-15, 1-7 CSAC) got on the board with a three-pointer by Erika Deppenschmidt with 13:23 left in the first half. Immaculata went on another 15-0 spurt to make it 30-3 before the Gators got a three from Naimani Staley with 8:35 to play to cut the score to 30-6.

Immaculata led Notre Dame, 45-8, at halftime.

Immaculata is back home Wednesday evening hosting Keystone College at Alumnae Hall beginning at 6 p.m.
