GLASSBORO, N.J. – Led by a career-high 25 points from
Adriana Sciascia, Immaculata University women's basketball improved to 10-3 overall with its 71-63 victory against Rowan University in non-conference action Monday night.

Sciascia went 12-for-13 from the free throw line and 6 of 9 from the field for her team-leading 25 points. She also handed out two assists and had three steals.
Sara Smith was the only other Mighty Mac to score in double figures with 14 points, while grabbing a team-high nine rebounds and also having three steals.

Rowan (3-11) took the early 6-0 lead to start the game before Immaculata's offense got going.
Mackie Fitzgerald scored the Mighty Macs' first bucket at the 14:54 mark, and
Emily Bell put up a jumper 25 seconds later to cut the Profs' lead to 6-4.

Rowan ran its lead back to six (12-6) with 12:29 to play in the first half, and it still held a six-point edge after Annie Wenz made a layup at the 11:50 mark to give the Profs the 14-8 advantage. Immaculata then started its 11-2 run to gain the lead beginning with Sciascia draining a 3-pointer with 11:20 left in the first. Sciascia finished with five points and Smith added four in the spurt. Smith capped the run with her jumper with 6:24 to play in the half to hand Immaculata a 19-16 lead.

The Mighty Macs led by as many as five points three times during a two-minute span, the last time (27-22) coming with 2:52 remaining in the first half. Rowan was able to tie the game at 27-27 after stringing together five-consecutive points, but
Marisa Kinsey sent the visitors into the locker room at halftime with a 29-27 lead after making a layup in the final second.

Immaculata quickly extended its lead to 37-29 during the opening minutes of the second half, and it still led by eight (39-31) at the 15:36 mark. During a span of 2:16, Rowan went on a 9-2 run to close the gap to just 41-40.

The Mighty Macs were able to push their lead back to six (48-42) with 11:50 to play in the game, but the Profs were able to hang around. It wasn't until the 4:53 mark in the contest that Immaculata saw its lead reach double digits (60-50). However, Rowan still had a comeback to make it a three-point game (65-62) with just 1:02 left in the game.

Immaculata was able to seal the win with a 6-for-6 performance from the foul line during the final 55 seconds.

Brittany Merkle recorded nine points, five rebounds and blocked two shots. Fitzgerald had a team-high seven assists and seven steals while adding six points.
Alison Zimny finished with seven points and four rebounds.

Immaculata is off until Monday, Jan. 20, when it travels to Notre Dame of Maryland University.
