Baseball Graduates Meet Jamie Moyer

IMMACULATA, Pa.-The graduating Immaculata baseball seniors had the opportunity to meet former Major League baseball player Jamie Moyer at Commencement yesterday prior to him giving his Commencement address.  T.J. Warner, Joseph Caria, Matt Hardy, Andrew Dietrich, and Aaron Dietrich were all four year players at the university and were with the program since the first game.

Head coach Bryan Torresani said of the opportunity, “Any time you get to meet a major leaguer with the pedigree of Jamie Moyer as both a person and a player, its special.  These graduating seniors will have one more great experience to take away from Immaculata.”

Moyer played 25 seasons in the Major Leagues and accumulated 269 victories in his career.  He was an instrumental part of the 2008 World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies.  Off the field, the Moyer Foundation founded in 2000, is dedicated to providing comfort and support to children enduring a time of profound physical, emotional or financial distress. With the community's support, the Moyer Foundation has raised more than $20 million to support over 225 different programs that directly serve the needs of children in distress.
