Men's Lacrosse Comeback Comes Up Short, 13-10

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Immaculata used a six-goal third quarter to come within one goal of DeSales, but the Bulldogs pulled out the 13-10 victory in non-conference men's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon.
 
Down 9-3 at halftime, the Mighty Macs outscored the Bulldogs 6-1 during the third stanza to pull within one goal (10-9) heading into the final period of play. DeSales' only goal of the quarter came with 11:58 remaining to push the Bulldogs' advantage to 10-3.
 
Immaculata (1-7) ended the third quarter with six-straight tallies during a nine-minute stretch. Bhelly Bagbonon led the Mighty Macs with three goals during the run, while Ben Tuscai scored one goal and assisted on one other. Dante Tuscai and Rocco Piliero contributed the other markers in Immaculata's comeback.
 
DeSales (4-5) opened the fourth quarter putting up three goals during the first seven minutes in an attempt to seal the win. Immaculata's final goal of the game came with 1:30 to play as Ben Tuscai found the back of the net.
 
Bagbonon finished with a team-leading five goals, and Ben Tuscai registered two goals and two assists. Dante Tuscai recorded two goals and two assists.
 
Michael Beall, John Abruzzo, Jordon Smith and Mike Boyd all collected a team-best three ground balls each, and Dan Klodarska forced four DeSales turnovers. Goalkeeper Jon Diodati recorded 10 saves in the loss.
 
DeSales began the game scoring four consecutive goals before Immaculata could answer, and the Bulldogs led 5-1 at the end of the first quarter. DeSales had taken a 9-1 lead before Immaculata scored twice at the end of the second stanza to trail by just six goals at intermission.
 
Immaculata begins its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) schedule on Saturday hosting Neumann at 1 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
