IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University men's lacrosse lost its final game of the 2013 season Thursday afternoon to fifth-ranked Cabrini, 26-5.
Immaculata honored its eight seniors in a ceremony prior to the game to celebrate the careers of
Mike Boyd,
Aaron Burton,
Ryan Cipriani,
Dan Klodarska,
Dan McGraw,
Jordon Smith,
Ben Tuscai and
Dante Tuscai.
Ben Tuscai led the Mighty Macs with two goals during the afternoon.
Dante Tuscai, Cipriani and
Rocco Piliero all scored one goal. Boyd and
Luc Minnich each had one assist.
Klodarska racked up a team-best six ground balls and four caused turnovers, while
John Abruzzo had five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Jon Diodati started the game in goal for the Mighty Macs and made 15 saves. Diodati made several big saves during the first five minutes of the game to keep the Cavaliers off the scoreboard.
Jalal Hodges came in and played 20 minutes while making four saves.
Dante Tuscai scored the first goal of the game off a feed from Boyd just 1:30 into the game. Cabrini then took control with 10 goals to end the first quarter.
The Cavaliers (12-3, 6-0 CSAC) led 14-2 at halftime, with the Mighty Macs' second-quarter coming from
Ben Tuscai.
Immaculata scored twice during the third quarter as
Ben Tuscai scored his second goal of the game at the 13:32 mark, and Cipriani scored on Minnich's pass with 5:49 remaining in the third.
Piliero scored Immaculata's final tally of the contest with 9:03 left in the game.
Immaculata finishes the season with an overall record of 3-11 and 2-4 in the CSAC.
Ben Tuscai finished his IU career as the Immaculata leader in career assists (111) and points (179), while ranking fourth in all-time goals (68).
Dante Tuscai leaves Immaculata ranked second in all-time goals (90), all-time assists (43) and career points (133), while listing fourth in career ground balls (119) and third in face-off wins (90).
Mike Boyd also ranks eighth in career points (61), tied for sixth in assists (25), ninth in goals (36) and fifth in ground balls (118).
Jordon Smith moves into 10th on the all-time points ledger with 43.
Bhelly Bagbonon finishes the season moving into seventh in all-time points (63) and sixth in goals (49).
