BRYN MAWR, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team (10-6) finished off the best regular season in program history with an 18-2 triumph over Bryn Mawr (2-13) on Tuesday afternoon. Freshmen
Shannon Neill (4 G, 1 A) and
Allison Jakavick (4 G, 1 A, 4 DCs), and sophomores
Alyssa Petito (3 G, 2 A) and
Danielle Lopez (2 G, 3 A, 8 DCs) all led the Immaculata offense with five points apiece.
Freshman
Kelly Lapp had a solid all around game with three goals, a team-high seven groundballs and six caused turnovers.
Freshman
Allison Olock had a career high three points with a goal and two assists and sophomore
Mackie Fitzgerald added the final tally.
Junior
Nicole Behrndt notched her tenth win of the season in net with five saves.
The Mighty Macs put the game away by halftime as they scored all 12 goals in the first half. Neill, Jakavick, and Lapp all had three goals in the opening thirty minutes while Lopez added two and Petito had one. Immaculata scored 11 of the goals in the first 18 minutes before adding one more just before halftime. Jakavick and Neill each had four points in the first half.
In the second half, Bryn Mawr picked up the first goal, but the Immaculata defense ensured that it wouldn't get any closer. Leading 12-1 with 17 minutes to go, Petito, Jakavick, Neill, and Fitzgerald scored four consecutive over the next 11 minutes to extend the lead to 16-1.
Petito and Olock would score the final two goals of the game on assists from Lopez to wrap up the 10
th Immaculata victory of the season.
The Mighty Macs will now shift their focus to the CSAC playoffs as they are hosting Notre Dame in the first home postseason game in Immaculata history. The game is due to start at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.
