HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Immaculata University suffered an 18-6 men's lacrosse loss on Saturday to Centenary College in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play.
Luc Minnich recorded three goals, and
Ben Tuscai netted three assists. Tuscai's second assist of the afternoon at the 12:38 mark of the second quarter to
Bhelly Bagbonon marked the 100th assist of his career.
Bagbonon scored one goal, and
Mike Boyd and
Rocco Piliero each tallied single markers for the Mighty Macs.
Joe Amorosi and
Dante Tuscai finished with one assist each.
Minnich scored two goals during the first quarter, and Immaculata trailed just 3-2 with 5:36 remaining in the opening frame. However, Centenary scored with 35 seconds left to lead by two, 4-2, at the end of one.
After the Cyclones scored during the first 24 seconds of the second quarter, the Mighty Macs found the back of the net just 36 seconds apart to close the gap back to one goal, 5-4. Bagbonon began the scoring, and Minnich capped the spurt with his third goal of the afternoon with 12:02 to play before halftime.
Centenary (10-1, 4-1 CSAC) scored three more goals for an 8-4 lead before Piliero put the ball in the back of the net for the Mighty Macs. The Cyclones scored once more during the final 10 seconds to lead 9-5 at the break.
Boyd scored the Mighty Macs final goal of the game with 3:15 left to make the final score.
Jon Diodati started in goal for Immaculata and played 45 minutes with eight saves.
Jalal Hodges came in for the final 15 minutes, allowing one goal and recording three saves.
Dante Tuscai was 9-for-19 on face-offs and he scooped up three ground balls.
Jonathan Kopistecki finished 4-for-9 on face-offs and had four ground balls. Amorosi led the Mighty Macs collecting six loose balls, and he forced two Centenary turnovers.
Immaculata (2-9, 1-2 CSAC) hosts Rosemont on April 17 at 4 p.m.
