READING, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team was defeated Thursday night on the road by host Albright College, 20-9, in non-conference action.
Ben Tuscai paced the Mighty Macs (1-2) with six points on two goals and four assists, while
Bhelly Bagbonon led the squad with three goals.
Ryan Cipriani was the other Immaculata player with a multi-goal game as he finished with two tallies.
Dante Tuscai and
Dan Klodarska each recorded one goal, and
Mike Boyd registered one assist.
The Lions scored first during the first 1:13 to open the game. However,
Dante Tuscai's goal at the 11:35 mark of the first quarter tied the score at 1-1. Albright then rattled off five straight goals to extend its lead to 6-1 before Immaculata was able to answer. Bagbonon scored the Mighty Macs' other tally of the opening stanza with 3:55 remaining, and the Lions led, 7-2, after the first quarter.
Albright outscored Immaculata, 9-1, during the second quarter to lead at halftime, 16-3. Despite the Mighty Macs outscoring the Lions, 6-4, during the final two periods, Albright won the game, 20-9.
Jon Diodati started the game in goal for the Mighty Macs and played 46 minutes, 29 seconds. Diodati allowed 11 goals and made six saves.
Jalal Hodges made his first appearance of the season for Immaculata, letting in nine goals while stopping four shots in 13:31.
Ryan Turner was Albright's (2-1) leading scorer with four goals and two assists for six points. The Lions used a trio of goalies during the game, while Andrew Torak earned the start and played the first 24:26 to earn the win. He recorded two saves while allowing three goals.
Immaculata is back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. taking on Lebanon Valley College at Draper Walsh Stadium.
