IMMACULATA, Pa. – Four Mighty Macs placed in double figures as Immaculata University's women's basketball team stayed undefeated both at home and in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) with its 76-66 victory against Rosemont College Wednesday night.

Junior
Brittany Merkle completed a double-double performance with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Mighty Macs in both scoring and rebounding. Junior
Sara Smith chipped in 18 points, including 14 points during the second half, while junior
Adriana Sciascia finished with 16 points, 14 in the second half, and eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.Â
Alison Zimny added 12 points and seven boards.

Immaculata pushed its record to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the CSAC. Rosemont slipped to 2-5, 1-1 CSAC.

Rosemont led 56-55 with 9:47 remaining in the contest after Katharine Reppert nailed a three-pointer for the Ravens. Over the next 2 minutes, 23 seconds, Immaculata outscored Rosemont, 10-0, to take a 65-56 lead. The nine-point Mighty Mac lead was the largest of the contest for either team up to that point. Smith added six points during the span for Immaculata.

Rosemont came within six (68-62) with 6:10 to play in the game. However, Merkle and Sciascia closed the contest for Immaculata with five and three points each, respectively. The Mighty Macs' largest advantage of the contest was 13 (75-62) with 1:54 to go.

Immaculata had a solid effort from the free throw line going 18-for-21 (.857). Merkle finished the contest 7-for-8, and
Lindsay Cras was a perfect 4 of 4 at the line.

The first half saw eight lead changes and the score tied on four occasions before Immaculata closed the opening stanza on an 8-4 run during the final 3:19 to lead 36-33 at the break.

Immaculata travels to Neumann on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. tip against the Knights.
