IMMACULATA, Pa. – Visiting Gwynedd-Mercy College swept Immaculata University, 9-0, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference women's tennis match on Friday afternoon.
 
The Griffins (2-1, 2-0 CSAC), who were picked first in the CSAC preseason poll, won all three doubles positions. The Mighty Macs' (0-2, 0-2 CSAC) third doubles pair of Julie Einwechter and Olivia Kauffman did take one game from Kellie Booth and Zachara Harley, 8-1.
 
The middle of Immaculata's singles lineup battled with their Gwynedd-Mercy opponents. Immaculata's Emily Degnan loss to Caroline Lockwood, 6-3, 6-3, at second singles, and Theresa Martini and Kara Trowbridge both fell, 6-1, 6-4, at third and fourth singles, respectively. Einwechter also had a hard-fought match at the fifth position against Harley, falling 6-2, 6-4.  
 
Immaculata hosts Richard Stockton at 1 p.m. on Saturday in a non-league match.
