Mighty Macs Have Setback At Albright

READING, Pa.
– Immaculata University women's soccer fell to Albright College, 4-1, on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
 
The Mighty Macs (0-2) jumped out to the early 1-0 lead as Rachel Gannon scored in the 11th minute. It marks the second-straight game in which the sophomore as recorded a goal for Immaculata.
 
The Lions (2-2) evened the score at 1-1 in the 21st minute and the score remained tie at 1-all at halftime.
 
Albright took the 2-1 lead less than 10 minutes into the second half, and added insurance tallies in the 72nd and 88th minutes.
 
Immaculata goalkeeper Meghan McCurnin recorded eight saves. Elizabeth McBride and Jaymee Stepp each made one stop in 45 minutes of action for Albright, and Stepp earned the win.
 
Albright held the edge against Immaculata in both shots (22-6) and corner kicks (11-2).
 
Immaculata opens the home season on Saturday at Draper Walsh Stadium hosting Elizabethtown at 1 p.m.
