ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Immaculata's women's tennis captured its first win of the season as it defeated Cedar Crest, 5-4, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match on Friday afternoon.
 
Immaculata captured two of the three doubles matches, winning at the one and three positions. The Mighty Macs' top doubles pair of 
Emily Degnan and 
Theresa Martini defeated Cassandra Bejar and Jenny Craig, 8-3. IU's third doubles team of 
Julie Einwechter and 
Olivia Kauffman won 8-4 against Rakin Otoo and Francheska Aquino.
 
The Mighty Macs won the match by splitting singles action with the Falcons. Immaculata won all the even-numbered matches.
 
Degnan was the only double-winner of the afternoon after winning at second singles, 6-2, 6-1, opposite Bejar.
 
Kara Trowbridge, playing at fourth singles, was a 6-0, 6-2 winner against Otoo, and 
Ally Minton claimed sixth singles against Maria Vincent, 6-2, 6-0.
 
Immaculata (1-4, 1-2 CSAC) continues league play on Saturday afternoon traveling to Marywood at 1 p.m.
