IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's lacrosse squad cruised to a 24-9 victory against Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference tilt at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Immaculata (2-8) broke open an 11-8 game at halftime by outscoring Lancaster Bible, 13-1, during the second half. The Mighty Macs scored eight goals during the first nine minutes of the half, extending their lead to 19-8.
Lancaster Bible(0-9) scored its only goal of the second half at the 20:04 mark, and Immaculata ended the contest with five more tallies.
Chelsey Murta tallied a team-leading five goals, while
Katie Cook finished with a team-high six points on three goals and three assists for Immaculata.
Emily Hallett had five points with four goals and one assist, and
Alyssa Petito racked up three goals and two assists for five points.
Immaculata also received four goals from
Danielle Lopez and two goals from
Allison Salvo and
Kelly Kugler.
Megan Chacosky added one goal and one assist, and
Samantha Bonvetti recorded one assist.
The Mighty Macs jumped out to a 5-0 lead during the first eight minutes, but the Chargers answered with three straight tallies. The two squads traded scores during the rest of the opening half. Immaculata had an 11-6 edge with 3:16 remaining when Lancaster Bible scored twice during the final two minutes to go into intermission down by just three (11-8).

Britt Worthington made 12 saves in the win while Lancaster Bible goalie Nicole Valinteno had 10 stops.
The Chargers were paced by Whitney Heise's five goals, and Rebekah Weidel finished with three goals.
Immaculata is off until it hosts Neumann on Tuesday, April 10, at 4 p.m.
