Keystone Downs Baseball in Series Opener

La Plume, Pa.- Keystone scored eight runs over the first three innings of play as the Giants defeated Immaculata, 13-5, in the opening game of their three game CSAC series on Friday afternoon.
 
Matt Hardy put the Mighty Macs on the board first when he homered to left field but Keystone took advantage of an Immaculata error in the second adding a pair of runs for the lead.
 
The Mighty Macs answered in the top of the third with a pair of their own. Eli Vottero's RBI single scored Greg Binfield and Vottero would advance on an error by Keystone's catcher before coming around to score on TJ Warner's single.
 
The Giants' bats came alive in the bottom of the frame scoring six runs and added two more in the fourth and fifth innings.
 
Matt Bolden knocked in a two-RBI single plating Hardy and Vottero in the eighth to cap the scoring for the Mighty Macs.
 
Hardy finished 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI and Warner went 2-for-3 to lead Immaculata at the plate. Bolden registered a team-high two RBIs.
 
Immaculata starter Matt Dolan (3-2) went 3.2 innings allowing four earned runs on eight hits. Alex Kobylinski came in relief and gave up two runs on three hits across 1.1 innings of work. Kirk Wenzler and Joe Caria finished the game giving up one hit each.
 
Immaculata (16-18, 7-9) will close the 2012 CSAC regular season on Saturday when they host Keystone for a doubleheader and will celebrate senior day. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
