WINCHESTER, Va. – Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team closed out the 2012 season with a 10-8 Colonial States Athletic Conference victory at Shenandoah on Thursday afternoon.
Joey Shallow and
Mike Boyd each had three goals and one assist while
Ben Tuscai finished with one goal and three assists to lead the Mighty Macs with four points apiece.
Ryan Cipriani scored twice and
Jordon Smith netted one goal.
Nick Ridolfi recorded two assists.
The Mighty Macs and Hornets traded goals during the first two quarters, and were at a 4-4 stalemate at halftime.
Shenandoah scored with 7:35 remaining in the third quarter to lead, 5-4, and Immaculata tied the game at 5-all with 3:17 to play in the third period.
The Mighty Macs began the final quarter scoring three goals during a three-minute span to take their largest lead of the contest, 8-5, with 11:41 left in the game.
Shenandoah cut the margin to two goals (8-6) with a score at the 11:18 mark. However, Immaculata was able to extend its advantage back to three (9-6) with a Tuscai goal at 10:38.
The Hornets weren't finished though as Mac Hedrick scored twice to bring the hosts within one, 9-8, with 5:30 remaining. The Mighty Macs were able to seal the win with Boyd's goal in the closing seconds.

Shenandoah had two goals from Hedrick, Bryan Pope and Courtney Ledden.
Immaculata finishes the campaign with a record of 3-12 overall and 3-4 in the CSAC. Shenandoah slips to 2-14, 1-6 CSAC.
