Mighty Macs Outlast Neumann, 3-2

IMMACULATA, Pa.-  Immaculata University's baseball squad was able to hold off Neumann to earn the opener of the three-game series, 3-2, on Friday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) baseball contest.

Matt Dolan (3-1) started and went 7.2 innings for the win allowing two earned runs on four hits. Richard Cusic pitched the final inning to preserve the Mighty Macs' win and earned a save.

Neumann (20-10, 6-5) opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth on a RBI double but the Mighty Macs plated its only three runs in the top of the sixth which would eventually seal the victory. TJ Warner's double scored Matt Hardy and Eli Vottero and Warner came around to score on Brett Knazek's sacrifice fly to go up 3-1. The Knights added a single run in the eighth but it was not enough to thwart the Mighty Macs.

Hardy and Warner each went 2-for-4 at the plate and Warner registered two RBIs for Immaculata.

Immaculata (14-16, 6-7) concludes its series with Neumann on Saturday, April 21 with a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
