Women's Lacrosse Falls Against Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's lacrosse team fell to host Marywood University, 22-11, on Tuesday night in a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest.
 
The Mighty Macs (3-11, 1-6 CSAC) trailed early to the Pacers, 7-2, with 17:16 remaining in the first half. However, Immaculata was able to string together five straight goals to cut the score to just one (8-7) with 1:08 left in the opening half. Kelly Kugler began the run at the 11:31 mark on a pass from Alyssa Petito, and Katie Cook scored the second goal less than one minute later. Emily Hallett brought the Mighty Macs within one scoring a natural hat trick.
 
Marywood (9-3, 6-0 CSAC) scored with 17 seconds remaining before intermission to take a 9-7 edge into the break.
 
The Pacers scored the first two markers of the second half, but the Mighty Macs responded with three in-a-row to still trail by just one goal (11-10) with 26:44 left in the game. Unfortunately for Immaculata, Marywood posted nine straight tallies to extend its lead to 19-10, and held on for the victory.
 
Cook finished with a team-high four goals for Immaculata while Hallett had three goals and one assist for four points. Kugler and Danielle Lopez both added a pair of goals, and Petito totaled three assists on the night.
 
Immaculata goalkeeper Britt Worthington recorded 21 saves in the loss.
