Baseball Falls Against Eastern

IMMACULATA, Pa.- Immaculata University's baseball squad suffered an 18-10 setback against Eastern in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.

Brandon Seibert led Immaculata 4-for-5 at the plate scoring with three runs and two RBIs. Eli Vottero and Matt Hardy finished with three hits and two runs each while Hardy had a team-high four RBIs.

Eastern (19-12) broke open a tied game (1-1) with a five run second and added seven more in the fourth for the large lead. The Mighty Macs added a single in the second on Seibert's triple that plated Greg Binfield. Seibert would score Immaculata's only single in the bottom of the fourth on Hardy's sacrifice fly.

Eastern extended the lead with a single in the top of the sixth but Seibert responded when he homered to left field to spark a late rally. Hardy knocked in a run in the seventh before Immaculata posted three runs in the eighth and two more in the final inning but could not thwart the Eagles.

Immaculata (12-16) continues non-league play Wednesday, April 18 hosting Valley Forge Christian at 4 p.m.
