Women's Lacrosse Tops Bryn Mawr, 16-10

IMMACULATA, Pa.
Danielle Lopez and Alyssa Petito each notched four goals apiece to lead Immaculata University's women's lacrosse team to a 16-10 victory over visiting Bryn Mawr Thursday evening at Draper-Walsh Stadium.
 
Immaculata (3-9) picked up its second win in its last three games with the triumph over Bryn Mawr (2-8).
 
After trading goals with the Owls for much of the first half, the Mighty Macs used a three-goal run in the final 5:15 to take an 11-7 advantage. Then, the hosts got an extra-person goal from Alyssa Petito to begin the second half and take a 12-7 lead.
 
Bryn Mawr stormed back with three unanswered tallies of its own to pull within two (12-10) with 12 minutes left. However, the Mighty Macs scored the four final goals of the match to close out the upset-minded Owls. Petito netted the first two markers in that run while Lopez added the last two to ice the game.
 
Britt Worthington made 11 saves in the cage for Immaculata. Bryn Mawr goalie Kate Flaming recorded 14 stops.
 
Emily Hallett and Katie Cook each registered a hat trick while Kelly Kugler notched a pair of goals. Cook added six ground balls and caused two turnovers as well.
 
Immaculata heads to Centenary on Saturday afternoon for a 2:30 p.m. draw.
