IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's lacrosse team was handed a 14-11 loss by Neumann University on Tuesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
Danielle Lopez had three goals and one assist for four points to lead the Mighty Macs (2-9, 1-4 CSAC).
Allison Salvo and
Leah Kuczynski each recorded two goals, and
Katie Cook and
Emily Hallett had one goal and one assist apiece.
Alyssa Petito and
Chelsey Murta each added one goal, and
Stephanie Tedeschi had one assist.
The Knights (8-3, 4-1 CSAC) scored three goals during the first four minutes of the second half to break a 6-6 tie at halftime. Neumann would hold the advantage the rest of the contest, but Immaculata made a run to tie the score with 10 minutes left in the contest.
Neumann led 12-8 following a free-position goal at the 10:19 mark of the second period. Petito scored off Cook's assist with 8:32 to play bringing Immaculata within three (12-9). Less than one minutes later, Lopez' free-position goal cut the Knights' lead to 10-12. Then, with just 5:30 remaining in the game, Salvo tallied a goal on a pass from Hallett to narrow Neumann's lead to 12-11.
The Knights sealed their win with two goals from Alexandra Bohen during the final five minutes, and the Mighty Macs were able to find the back of the net.

Britt Worthington made nine saves while taking the loss. Neumann goalie Sam Kotowski recorded seven stops in the win.
Neumann's Bohen had six goals and one assist while Andrea Lorusso amassed five goals and one assist. Meghan Garsey also had four assists.
Immaculata hosts Bryn Mawr on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
