Baseball Falls At No. 5 Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md.-The Immaculata University baseball team lost to No. 5 Salisbury, 7-2, in a non-conference match-up at the SU Baseball Field on Sunday afternoon. The Mighty Macs drop to 8-12 on the season with the loss while Salisbury improves to 20-4.

The Sea Gulls struck first in the third inning scoring three runs before Matt Hardy scored on a wild pitch in the fourth to make the score, 3-1. Salisbury added two more in the sixth and seventh innings to keep the game out of reach. Matt Bolden added an RBI groundout in the ninth plating Matt Hardy for Immaculata's second run of the game.

Bryan McHale (1-2) suffered the loss in six innings for Immaculata. He allowed six runs on nine hits and struck out four. Joe Caria pitched 1.2 innings in relief surrending one run on three hits.

Hardy finished 2-for-4 at the plate to pace the Mighty Macs.

Immaculata back in action on Wednesday, April 4 when they host Penn State Abington in a non-conference match-up at 4 p.m.
