Men's Lacrosse Picks Up 10-7 Win Opposite Neumann

ASTON, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team picked up its first Colonial States Athletic Conference victory this season with a 10-7 win at Neumann University on Saturday afternoon.
 
Joey Shallow paced the Mighty Macs with five goals and one assist for six points. Bhelly Bagbonon and Ben Tuscai each recorded three points as Bagbonon had two goals and one assist and Tuscai had one goal and two helpers. Jordon Smith and Tayler Acree each scored one goal apiece, and Nick Ridolfi had two assists.
 
Tuscai scored the first goal of the game and the Mighty Macs (1-9, 1-1 CSAC) had the early lead at the 11:30 mark of the first quarter. Neumann tied the score 1-1 with Steven Miner's goal at the 9:34 mark, but Immaculata went up 2-1 as Bagbonon scored on a Ridolfi assist with 5:45 to play in the first quarter.
 
The Mighty Macs extended their lead to 4-1 after Acree and Smith scored during the first 5:15 of the second quarter. The Knights got back within one (4-3) after back-to-back less than two minutes apart. Shallow gave Immaculata a 5-3 lead at halftime as he scored the first of his five goals with 31 seconds remaining before the break.
 
Shallow scored twice more to open the third quarter, pushing Immaculata's lead to 7-3 with 10:47 left in the stanza.
 
Neumann (4-6, 2-1 CSAC) ended the third quarter with two goals and scored again at the 11:01 of the fourth quarter to trail by just one, 7-6. Shallow then found the back of the net twice more to put Immaculata ahead, 9-6. Neumann scored with 2:13 remaining to cut its deficit back to two (9-7) but Bagbonon sealed the win for the Mighty Macs with his goal with 45 seconds left in the game.
 
Immaculata goalkeeper Max Bonhage earned the win making 11 saves. Neumann goalie Andrew Neubauer made 12 stops while taking the loss.
 
Sam Maldou and Mike Pantalone each finished with two goals to lead the Knights.
 
Immaculata hosts Marywood on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
